1. What are the indications for using SERETIDE 125MCG?

A1: It is used for prophylactic and regular treatment of Asthma and to improve symptoms of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). It aims to reduce inflammation and widen the airways.

2. Is Seretide used to treat acute asthma attacks?

A2: No. Seretide is not used as a "rescue" treatment for acute asthma attacks or sudden shortness of breath. For these situations, a short-acting bronchodilator (like Salbutamol) must be used.

3. What is the usual dosage?

A3: The usual dosage for adults and children over 12 years old is two inhalations (puffs) twice daily (morning and evening), with a 12-hour interval between doses. Physician instructions must be followed.

4. What are the most important side effects and how can they be avoided?

A4: Common side effects include oral thrush (a fungal infection in the mouth) and hoarseness of voice. To avoid these, you must rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after every use of the inhaler.

5. Should its use be continued even if symptoms improve?

A5: Yes. It must be continued regularly as directed by the doctor, even if you do not show symptoms. This medication is a preventive treatment that stops inflammation and future attacks.
